Open an archived course and select Files. The file workspace combines a directory tree with searchable file results.

Browse the archive

1

Choose a directory

Use Directories to open a folder. The file list updates to that location.
2

Narrow the results

Use Search all course files or choose a file type. Change the items per page when you need to scan more rows.
3

Choose a view

Switch between the available list and card views. Both views show the same archived records.
4

Open a file

Select a file to open its preview panel. K16 previews supported content through the Archive file service.
The list can show the file name, type, size, and updated date. Folder rows open the selected directory.

Download files

Open the file preview, then select Download. Your browser downloads the preserved file.
Downloaded files may contain student work, personal information, or licensed course content. Keep them in approved storage and share them only with authorized people.

When a preview is unavailable

A missing preview does not always mean the file is missing. The browser may not render the file type, or the archived record may provide only a download.
1

Confirm the file record

Check the name, type, size, and updated date.
2

Download the file

Select Download and open it with an approved local application.
3

Try a direct record

If the file came from an assignment or submission, open that archived detail and compare the attachment.
If the download fails repeatedly, record the course ID, file name, and file ID before you contact support.
