DataX MCP lets supported local agent clients use workspace-scoped data exploration tools after OAuth authentication.
DataX MCP is an alpha feature. Its client setup and available tools can change. Use it only with institution-approved data and follow your organization’s security policy.

Prerequisites

  • DataX is enabled for your workspace.
  • Your account has MCP setup access.
  • Your local client is installed and allowed by your institution.

Get workspace-specific connection details

  1. Open your account menu and select Settings.
  2. Under Personal, select Connections.
  3. Find DataX MCP and open its connection details.
  4. Copy the generated server URL and follow the tab for your client.
Use the displayed codex mcp add command, then run the displayed codex mcp login command. Complete OAuth in the browser and verify that the workspace server appears in your MCP list.
Always copy commands from your own K16 settings. The server URL and server name include your workspace identifier and should not be copied from another institution.
