DataX provides two analytics publishing surfaces:
  • Dashboards combine live query widgets in a DataX-managed layout.
  • Reporting opens embedded reporting workbooks when that integration and access are available.
Both areas are feature- and access-gated. If one is missing, your workspace may include only the other.

Create a dashboard

Open Dashboards

From Analytics, select Dashboards.

Create the dashboard

Select New dashboard, then give the dashboard a clear name and optional description.

Add a widget

Add a widget and choose Query Builder or SQL Editor.

Run a preview

Select Run preview. DataX uses the returned fields to validate and configure the visualization.

Configure the view

Set the widget title, optional description, visualization type, returned fields, and color scheme.

Save

Finish the widget setup, arrange it on the dashboard grid, then select Save.
Run a widget again when its data or controls change. Use the widget actions to edit or remove it. Rename or delete a dashboard from the dashboard explorer when your role allows those changes.
Keep each widget focused on one question. A descriptive title and a short explanation make the measure easier to interpret without opening the query.

Use dashboard controls

Widgets can use filter and time-range controls when their query supports them. Confirm the default range, field mapping, and returned data in preview before you publish the dashboard for routine use. Dashboard data remains subject to catalog access. A widget can fail for another viewer when that viewer cannot query one of its entities.

Use Reporting

Select Analytics > Reporting to open embedded workbooks. The explorer displays the folders and workbooks returned by the reporting provider. If you have reporting management access, open the create menu to select:
  • New folder;
  • New workbook.
Select a workbook to open it in the embedded pane. Depending on your access, you can rename, move, or delete items from the explorer. New content requires a provisioned parent workspace folder; if the app cannot find one, creation stays unavailable until the reporting workspace is provisioned.
Deleting a workbook or folder is a provider-backed action. Confirm its contents and audience before you select Delete.

Choose between them

Use Dashboards for a compact K16 Platform view built from DataX query widgets. Use Reporting when your institution’s reporting workflow depends on the embedded workbook provider. Start complex logic in a worksheet, validate the result, and then reuse it in the publishing surface that matches your audience.
