# Create snapshots and exports

> Capture published blueprint data now or on a schedule, and prepare file exports.

Snapshots capture the data behind a published blueprint at a point in time. Exports write blueprint data to files. Manage both from the same Lakehouse workspace.

  Snapshot actions require **Manage snapshots**; export actions require **Manage scheduled
  exports**. The tabs and actions you see depend on those separate permissions.

## Navigate the workspace

Open **Lakehouse** > **Snapshots**. The page offers these tabs when your access permits:

* **Schedules** lists snapshot and export schedules.
* **Snapshots** lists completed and in-progress point-in-time captures.
* **Exports** lists generated export jobs and files.

Search by name and filter by blueprint, status, or schedule type. Select **Refresh** after a job starts or finishes.

## Create a snapshot

    Select the published blueprint whose data you want to capture.

    Select **Now**, **Once**, **Daily**, **Weekly**, **Monthly**, or **Yearly**. Complete the date
    and time fields shown for that choice.

  <Step title="Create the schedule">
    Select **Create schedule**. A **Now** request creates a near-term run; it does not finish
    synchronously. Another cadence creates a scheduled job.

Recurring snapshots use the published blueprint version available when each run executes. Review a schedule after publishing a breaking blueprint change.

## Create an export

Select **Export**, choose the blueprint and cadence, then configure the file format. Export schedules support CSV, JSON, and Parquet. Format-specific options appear in the dialog.

Select **Create export** to queue a one-time export or create the selected schedule. Use the **Exports** tab to find generated output.

## Manage schedules

Open a schedule to review its blueprint, description, cadence, creation date, active date range, and format settings. When allowed, edit an active schedule and select **Save schedule**.

Schedule states include:

* **Active** when the schedule can create future runs
* **Paused** when future runs are temporarily suspended
* **Complete** when the configured run plan has finished
* **Error** when the schedule needs attention

## Review a snapshot

Select a record on the **Snapshots** tab. The detail page shows its status, source blueprint version, columns, SQL used to read the snapshot, and sample rows. Use the history rail to switch between captures for the same blueprint.

You can copy the generated SQL. If you have management access, you can also delete the snapshot after confirmation.

  Deleting a snapshot removes that point-in-time record. Confirm that no audit, reporting, or
  comparison workflow still depends on it.

If a job fails, record the blueprint, version, cadence, time, and status message. Confirm that the blueprint is still published and enabled before retrying.
