# Understand an archived course

> Use the course overview, snapshot, and navigation to inspect an archived course.

An archived course opens on **Overview**. This landing page identifies the course and provides quick links to common records.

## Verify the course

Before you review or export data, check:

* **Course ID**
* **Integration**
* **Workflow**
* **Term**
* **Course Code**
* **SIS Course ID**

Open **Settings** to see the course description, original code, linked LMS, and integration ID.

<Note>
  A dash or **Unknown** means the source record did not provide a usable value. It does not
  necessarily mean the archive is incomplete.
</Note>

## Use quick links

The **Quick Section Links** card opens:

* **Settings**
* **Enrollments**
* **Course Sections**
* **Gradebook**

Use these links for common audit tasks. Use the course navigation for all other preserved record types.

## Read archived detail pages

Most section pages provide search, sorting, and pagination. Select a row to open its detail page. Detail pages can include:

* the preserved title and state
* source identifiers and dates
* rendered content or description
* related child records
* additional source metadata

K16 may display a source value exactly as archived. Interpret it in the context of the source LMS and the date of the archive.
