# Find and open courses

> Search and filter the archived course directory, then open the correct course.

Open **Courses** from the **Archive** navigation group to browse the course directory.

## Search the directory

The main search accepts:

* course title
* course code
* SIS course ID
* exact K16 course ID

Press `/` to focus the search field. Select **Filters** for more precise criteria.

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Text filters">
    Filter by **Source** or **Term**. These filters match text within the stored value.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Date filters">
    Set start and end values for **Updated At**, **Start Date**, or **End Date**.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

Select **Clear all** to remove the active search and filters.

## Compare results

The directory can show:

* ID
* title
* course code
* SIS course ID
* term
* source LMS
* original course code
* course start and end dates
* created and updated dates

Use the column control to show fields that help you distinguish similar courses. Sortable column headers change the result order.

<Tip>
  When courses share a title, compare the term, course code, SIS course ID, and source LMS before
  opening one.
</Tip>

## Open a course

Select a course row to open its **Overview**. Confirm the title and identifiers before you continue.

If you copied an exact K16 course ID from an import run, search for that ID. You can also select an available **Course page** link in the import run details.
