# Configure Canvas LTI for AI Detection

> Add the K16 AI Detection LTI tool to approved Canvas courses or subaccounts.

The Canvas LTI launch lets authorized instructors open K16 AI Detection reports from Canvas. Configure the Canvas integration before you add the LTI tool.

<Note>
  This task takes place in Canvas. The general K16 integration form does not expose an LTI
  configuration package. Obtain the current protected configuration through your approved K16
  delivery channel.
</Note>

## Before you begin

* Confirm that the K16 Canvas integration is active.
* Choose whether to add the tool to one course or an entire subaccount.
* Confirm that you can manage external apps at that Canvas scope.
* Obtain the current LTI configuration package securely.

## Add the tool in Canvas

    package.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit and verify">

    navigation.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Do not paste LTI protected values into documentation, screenshots, tickets, or chat. If the
  package is lost or exposed, contact K16 before continuing.
</Warning>

The Canvas navigation item should not be visible to students. Verify visibility with a student test account and an instructor test account before broad rollout.

## Troubleshoot

* If the app is missing, confirm that it was installed at the intended Canvas course or subaccount.
* If launch fails, confirm that the current K16 package was used without modifying the XML.
* If a report is unavailable, confirm the Canvas integration is **Active** and the course is included in the AI Detection workflow.
* If students can see the item, review Canvas placement and visibility settings before rollout.
